PGET guide

PGET exam format and preparation guide

PGET means Post Graduate Entrance Test. JCAT is the legacy term many candidates still use when searching for preparation resources.

Check the official notice first. Exam dates, eligibility, paper structure, fees, and pass requirements can change. This page explains a preparation method; it does not replace the current official announcement.

Terminology: PGET is the current term used on this guide; JCAT is retained only as a transparent legacy search alias.

Independent study advice

When a new PGET announcement is available, record the application deadline, exam date, eligibility, subjects, question format, time limit, and required documents. Keep the notice and its date with your study plan.

Prepare for the question style

Practise single-best-answer questions with a timer once you know the basic material. Read every option, identify the deciding clue, and explain why the alternatives are less suitable. This builds reasoning rather than recognition alone.

Use a three-pass study cycle

  1. Coverage: work through the syllabus and make concise notes.
  2. Retrieval: answer topic-based MCQs without looking at the explanation first.
  3. Consolidation: revisit wrong answers and mixed timed sets at increasing intervals.

Important terminology

Search results may still use JCAT because it is the name candidates previously used. FCPS Master uses PGET as the current term and keeps JCAT only as a transparent legacy alias.
